Animals of Habit (2011, revised 2014)
Program Notes:
For SATB saxophone quartet (which eventually switches to SSAA), this piece strives to capture the energy surrounding the various ways in which people become trapped by their own habitual rituals. It was a finalist in the 2015 UMKC Chamber Music Composition Competition, where it won second prize.
